It is a route that has been recently characterized and leads from the provincial road of Ioulida-Kato Meria to the area of Velados and from then on to Orkos bay. At Grikos begins a downhill, paved narrow trail with walls of dry wall on each side. Through forests of oak trees we step down, pass by the old spring of “Gerantoni” and end up at the scenic county church of Panagia Grikou. On our way back, having walked for a while on the motorway, we see churches, farmhouses and contemporary cottages. The trail becomes downhill and narrows again and leads to Orkos. Here, we can find a beautiful sandbank, clear waters and cottages. In this area there are also many old iron mines with galleries that can be visited. We can return by car via a quite accessible road.
